Island Routes

Island Tours & Routes

Bike route maps are provided in GPX, Digital and Paper formats.

Guided Bike Tours

We offer twice weekly guided road bike tours Routes are flexible and can be tailor made to suit your requirements. Each ride is around 80kms and you can expect smooth tarmac, quiet roads and breathtaking scenery as standard. Passing through the centre of the island you get to experience the stark red and black lunar landscape of Timanfaya’s volcanic region and the vineyards of La Geria wine region, where the island’s oldest bodegas line the route.

Or, heading north, you’ll take in one of our iconic climbs: to the Mirador del Rio, with stunning views over to La Graciosa island, or cycling the switchbacks of Haria, known as “The Valley of a Thousand Palms”. Traversing the island you will have the epic cliffs of Famara as your backdrop. These are a great opportunity to get out on a social ride, so of course, we include a coffee stop in one of the traditional Spanish plazas or on the beachfront in one of the island’s little fishing villages. Feel free to contact us for any further information or to secure your place on a tour. Please note: We require a minimum of 3 participants/riders for the tours to run.

Leisure Bike Routes

For a relaxed and leisurely day out on the bikes, Lanzarote boasts the longest beachfront promenade in Europe, connecting the two popular holiday resorts of Costa Teguise and Puerto del Carmen with the island’s capital, Arrecife.

The route starts right on our doorstep and is 25kms in length, (50kms out and back) or end to end, around a 2 hour cycle each way. Lined with glorious sandy beaches, there are plenty of opportunities for a pit stop: lunch in the capital´s modern marina, shopping at the Saturday morning market, a visit to one of Arrecife´s castles or a photoshoot at the old shipwreck outside of Costa Teguise.

This route can be enjoyed by everybody, and since there are no roads or big hills to navigate, it is very cycle friendly for children and novice riders too.

Self Guided MTB Routes

Lanzarote offers year round mountain biking opportunities with our mild climate and rugged landscape. From light cross country, including gravel roads and 4×4 trails, to the more adventurous Enduro style riding on the Northern trails, the best way to see the island’s true beauty is to get off the beaten track and explore. The MTB routes surrounding Costa Teguise require a good base level of fitness and intermediate skill level of riding. GPX route files are ready to download below, since the trails are unmarked, this is the best way to navigate the routes. We can also supply paper maps in store.
